Introduction
Are you considering purchasing an air fryer after its recent extreme popularity? Well, before you purchase a product right away, you should know that there are many alternative designs. For example, have you ever heard of oven air fryers? They are also considered air fryers but shaped like an oven. Like a regular one, an oven type also uses convection heat to cook quickly in a small space. It combines it with other cooking functions such as baking, broiling, toasting, and sometimes rotisserie cooking and dehydrating.
Aside from the design differences, both types are essentially small countertop convection ovens that include Convection Fan, Basket, or Cooking Tray Heating Element(s) (with holes to allow for airflow). So, in this article, we will review the Breville BOV860BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer for you to both have an idea and be more comfortable in your purchase whether you purchase this product from Breville or not.

How Are Air Fryers Different from Convection Ovens?
An air fryer is a countertop appliance that typically cooks one dish at a time, whereas an oven is a full-sized appliance that can cook multiple dishes or larger portions. The second major distinction is one of function. It circulates heated air quickly to cook and crisp a variety of foods. Both air fryers and convection ovens use convection heating for cooking food evenly and quickly. They do, however, differ in a few ways. Some of the main differences between them are their appearances, their sizes, and their frying capabilities.

Review: We bought this to replace our Cuisinart air fryer which failed us just post warranty expiration date. Overall we love the actual functions of this Breville product. For the price we do wish that the crumb catcher were made of a different material. It has some sort of coating that makes it very difficult to clean. The little roasting pan is also very difficult to clean because it also has an odd finish. The air fryer basket works well and the programmed function buttons do yield great results for toast and bagels. Overall, this is a great multi-functional tool for our everyday cooking tasks.

Review: As with most ovens, the elements are exposed to dripping cheese. (My old one wasn’t, but it was 20 years old.) The functionality is excellent. It is a good replacement for an air fryer. It does get very hot, so you can’t put it in a cabinet or under the countertops.

Review: My wife and I are really pleased with this oven and have been using it often. As it draws 1800 watts we carefully installed it on a 20 amp circuit and have had no issues with circuit overload. We enjoy the larger inside volume compared to our previous oven. My wife really appreciates that the mid-level baking rack pulls partially out when the door opens so that she doesn’t have to reach inside a hot oven.

Review: Does everything I want, easy peasy!!

Review: This does everything but wash dishes. The temperature heats to 450F unlike others and bakes, air fries, roasts, broils, etc. in much less time than using a full size oven. Its very easy to operate and clean and comes with all of the accessories. There are two of us so this has now become our go to for just about everything. This cost a little more than other brands, but well worth the difference.

Review: This thing literally is taking the place of my oven! Since it is just the 2 of us, it seemed stupid to heat that big oven up for a little casserole or whatever. I use this now, and it is great! It only uses 110 as opposed to the traditional oven using 220. What with the electric bills out here in Southern California, we are trying to save wherever we can.

Review: I am very pleased. I have NOT as yet used all the features so I will come back at a later date to do another review. I got the middle size as my kitchen counter space is limited. I like how it looks so that in it’s self is nice, after all one spends a good deal of time in the kitchen. I like things that compliment my kitchen but I do my research and I do not buy for looks. It had very good reviews and I read them all , the good, the bad and the ugly — I also researched other brands. So far I have used the toaster, Fryer, baked small items, and kept things warmed. I will cook larger items later.

Review: I use this oven just about every day. Does a great job with everything so far.
