Review: Oh boy. Some serious deception going on with this product. Caveat emptor.
Manufactured by Maximatic, the Elite Gourmet has many features of a standard toaster with several new aspects. The chic design and average price point aside, the long slot incorporated into the model makes the Elite Gourmet different.
The brand claims that the extended holders double the amount of bread you can toast. The wide range of levels on the selector is also a big selling point of the Elite Gourmet long slot.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Longer slots | Sometimes overheats |
Level variety | Tendency to burn the bread |
Easy to clean | Limited warranty |
Practical modes | Cheap plastic |
Elite Gourmet does make many quality appliances, and this long slot toaster is practical for quite a wide range of households. The long slot feature is ideal if you are a parent with multiple children and toasting takes too long with a standard machine. The slot design also fits many sizes because of its shape, so your options are not limited to bread.
Bagels, pastry, and other baked goods are all items you can experiment with once you decide to use the Elite Gourmet. Moreover, given that you cannot always buy fresh bread and rely on frozen goods, the defrosting mode will come in handy.
Including an opening with a large slot is one of the main selling points of the Elite Gourmet toaster. The shape is designed to accommodate up to four pieces of bread compared to the standard two with a normal toaster, which means it is possible to toast twice as much. This is especially beneficial for larger families who don’t have as much time in the morning to prepare breakfast.
A slimmer, longer design is also great for those without much countertop space. The white, glossy exterior of the machine fits in nicely in modern kitchens giving a luxurious look. The modes of the Elite Gourmet can be seen in the bottom right corner and light up when chosen.
On the technological side of things, the Elite Gourmet long slot toaster comes with many settings. Firstly, there are six levels of doneness that you can choose, ranging from lightly toasted to very dark. If toast preferences vary greatly in your household, this feature can settle your differences. Also, the three other features allow you to finetune precisely how you want your toast to be.
The cancel button stops the machine whenever you like, and the reheat button solves the problem of bread going cold without toasting it more. Lastly, the feature to defrost on the Elite Gourmet long slot is convenient when you forget to take the bread out of the freezer.
The outer layer of the Elite Gourmet long slot is made of plastic, with the inner part being stainless steel thus, humidity, water, and rust won’t be any concern for the user. Elite Gourmet is a brand that produces mostly metal-coated appliances, but it seems like they decided to forgo that with this one. Slots are ten inches long, and this version weighs about a pound.
It uses 130 watts of energy per hour, however, this power makes getting the perfect crisp much faster. Regarding the cord length, hooks are on the bottom to adjust and tuck away the cord.
Like most others, the Elite Gourmet also has a built-in crumb tray that slides out to easily dispose of the crumbs that may have accumulated in the bottom. If the toaster ever needs cleaning, the manufacturer states that a quick wipe with a wet cloth is sufficient.
The Elite Gourmet long slot is listed on Amazon for 35$ and their own website for 30$. It also comes in black on the website but is in stock more frequently on Amazon. The long slot toaster is one of the cheaper ones offered by Elite Gourmet, however, it lands on the more expensive side compared to general kitchen appliance brands.
One negative thing about the Elite Gourmet long slot is that it does not come with a warranty. You would, unfortunately, need to contact the company’s service and ask for a warranty separately. Nevertheless, purchases through Amazon are still refundable within the first month.
Some of the users of the product claim to have experienced problems reaching customer service. So be wary and always check your device when receiving it.
For a mid-range appliance with a couple of features, the Elite Gourmet long slot toaster seems adequate for many households. The ability to toast up to four pieces of bread and other baked goods in different shapes is a tempting offer. While it may not accommodate all your needs, Elite Gourmet seems to have complete confidence in its product and promote practicality.
The price point of Elite Gourmet is a bit discouraging since many other toasters doing the same job are cheaper and might push away potential buyers. But it is important to point out that most users have enjoyed using it and had a positive experience.
That is all there is to talk about. Hopefully, you have learned something from this review. With all this in mind, the Elite Gourmet device might be great for those looking to expand their kitchen set with something practical and innovative.
Review: Oh boy. Some serious deception going on with this product. Caveat emptor.
Review: I’ve had trouble finding a toaster that doesn’t require several toasts on the darkest setting to get the bread even lightly toasted. This toaster does the trick – a slightly higher than medium setting gives a good dark toast.
Review: Had big hopes for a toaster after using only our air fryer to toast. Works ok, but need to get the hang of starting from frozen.
Review: I read how this toaster burnt toast.
Review: This is sleek and so easy to adjust
Review: The toaster don’t go high enough to toast English muffins to my satisfaction. Always have to re-toast and have to watch it the 2nd time.
Review: Nice looking easy to clean but doesn’t toast bread evenly on both sides you have to stop the process flip your toast and strat over to get evenly toasted bread
Review: Hard to adjust just right not to burn the edge of the bread. I didn’t like that it is just two long slots for bread. I thought it would make 1-4 slices of toast. Like it would have separate comments for each piece of toast, that cooked individually. And that is not the case. All four areas are connected and they all heat up every time it is uses. Causing edges to burn.
