Who Should Get Hamilton Beach Sure-Crisp Air Fryer Countertop Toaster Oven?
This will be a great choice if you make toast often, heat frozen pizzas, and only cook for a couple of people at most. We wouldn’t recommend this as a second oven as it’s not good at baking, and you cannot fit a whole chicken inside.

The Features of Hamilton Beach Sure-Crisp Air Fryer Countertop Toaster Oven
Design
Even though the Hamilton Beach Air Fryer Sure Crisp Toaster Oven has a modern brushed chrome casing, its design is similar to that of toaster ovens from the past. It includes three dials that act as controllers and a glass door with a little handle on top that opens downward. It doesn’t require much countertop space and fits under a cabinet easily at 9 x 18 x 14 inches.
Cooking Performance
The Hamilton Beach performed admirably when we tried its air fryer capabilities, crisping, and browning breaded chicken breasts. Frozen French fries and Brussels sprouts weren’t quite crisp, but they were still edible. However, it didn’t provide much browning and crisping regarding handmade French fries and chicken wings.
Additionally, the hamburgers that were broiled weren’t particularly well-seared. We made a cake and cookies using the Bake feature, and both turned out quite dark and dried up in the case of the cookies. The top of a frozen pizza warmed up nicely, but some of the bottom crust was mushy. Bagels and slices of white bread were well cooked in this toaster oven. Consequently, the performance was rather uneven yet satisfactory in some areas.
The Hamilton Beach lacks a preheat feature. The manufacturer advises preheating the oven for 5 minutes before cooking for various functions. Preheating is not recommended for air frying, yet certain cooking times on some models were greater than on other models as a result.
A shallow basket is offered to air fry food in a single layer, just like other toaster oven air fryers. The browning and crisping of the breaded chicken breasts were met with great satisfaction from us. The brussels sprouts and frozen crinkle fries were crisped and lightly browned. But neither the chicken wings nor the fries produced the expected outcomes for fried food.
To cook four 4-ounce hamburgers, we selected the Broil setting. The burgers were delicious and juicy, but they were more gray than brown despite needing 18 minutes to cook to medium doneness. A 9-inch cake pan can fit inside the oven. A yellow cake was baked in the prescribed amount of time and came out moist and tender, but it didn’t rise very high, and the top crust was very dark and unevenly colored.
Although these browned pretty evenly, chocolate chip cookies’ inside were extremely dark and dry. Despite its diminutive size, the Hamilton Beach had enough space to heat a 12-inch frozen pizza comfortably. Although the top was golden and bubbly, the bottom crust was soggy.
Easy to Use/Clean

This toaster oven has no electronic controls. There are three small dials on it: one for choosing the cooking mode, one for adjusting the oven’s temperature, and a third for adjusting the cooking period.
Although it is fairly simple to use, the dials’ print is tiny, making it difficult to see the settings. Additionally, setting the time accurately is challenging because the dial is only a mechanical timer. The oven comes with a slide-out crumb tray, an oven rack, an air frying basket, an aluminum baking pan, and these accessories. There is no light in the oven to allow you to monitor your meal’s cooking.
The glass door on the oven becomes unreasonably hot when it’s running, getting as hot as 339.2°F. The Hamilton Beach is the only toaster oven we evaluated with a door handle that gets a bit hot to touch at a temperature of 146.8 °F. We hardly noticed the oven operating because it has a dBA reading of 50.4, making it incredibly quiet.
Final Verdict
The Hamilton Beach Air Fryer Sure Crisp Toaster Oven is significantly smaller and less expensive than the other devices we evaluated. It lacks electrical controls and many glitzy features and settings. But using it is straightforward. While its baking abilities were lacking, and it wasn’t big enough to roast a bird, it excels at toasting and performs admirably when air frying.

Review: I purchased this for a good price on Prime Day. I needed a toaster anyway so it work out. Works good as a toaster. I agree with the other reviews, it is not a great air fryer and takes a long time. I do have a regular air fryer so that for me is ok, but the point of this was for me to have to take out my big one all the time, which didn’t work put but it’s ok, I wanted this to work better as an air fryer.

Review: Does what I need it too. Doesn’t take up too much counter space. Overall satisfied with my purchase.

Review: Toasting bread could be better as the bottom does not get that brown like the top

Review: I love the small size as it’s for my office. It’s fairly expensive so I expected little to no flaws. Didn’t notice at first because I was so excited to finally receive it after waiting a week and a half for delivery, I was sent the wrong product. Waiting another week and a half for the correct one, I immediately opened it to run it and get the new appliance smell out. Which didn’t go away after about a dozen uses. What I was really upset about was the metal rack, it’s so crooked that when its in the door doesn’t close all the way. The box is so big and I already went thru the hassle of waiting three weeks for this thing it’s not even worth it to exchange at this point.

Review: I haven’t really utilized this unit to test the various cooking modes. Frankly, I have just cooked some frozen pizza and pretzels! One thing that I didn’t like is that if the user turns the timer fully clockwise, there doesn’t seem to be a way to easily get it to turn back!

Review: Love this toaster oven. Can not believe how well it cooks for the price. Downside, wish it was a little bigger and had an inside light.

Review: It’s a nice small size for the counter top, and actually works better than the traditional oven for most things. We cooked half our steak in this and the other half in the traditional oven to compare. The meat using the air fryer was much more tender, no doubt it did a better job! It’s worth getting if you have the space on your countertop. Only thing to be aware of it the top gets hot as well so it can’t be used to store things. This only matters w limited space.
