Or even if you choose not to purchase them, you will have at least an idea about a convection oven’s features and more information.
We will get into details of all the features that both products have and compare them. And at the end of this article, after comparing all the features of the products, we will also have a final verdict and decide which of the products is better in our opinion. So this article is mainly about Cuisinart Toa-28 vs. Cuisinart Toa-60 and which product is the better option for you to purchase.
What are Convection Ovens?
This part of the article will give you short information about convection ovensfor more details about the product you are planning to purchase. Food cooks more quickly and uniformly in a convection oven by moving hot air throughout the chamber. A fan and exhaust system circulate heated air around the meal to achieve this. Because there is less moisture buildup, the food cooks more uniformly and comes out crispier (similar to how it would result in an air fryer).
About Cuisinart
Carl Sontheimer, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology alumnus motivated by his love of French cuisine, invented Cuisinart in 1971. As a result, Cuisinart was founded, and the food processor became the company’s flagship item. At a trade fair in Chicago in January 1973, Cuisinart debuted its brand. Cuisinart’s first commercial success was modest, but a favorable review in Gourmet magazine spurred an increase in sales.
Due to the company’s connections to well-known chefs like James Beard, Cuisinart sales increased during the middle of the 1970s. When Cuisinart engaged Marc Harrison to make Cuisinart’s goods accessible for everyone, including people with restricted movement or eyesight, Cuisinart became a significant product in universal design.
Comparison of Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart-Toa 60 Convection Oven
1- Cooking Functions
This feature might be one of the most important ones you should pay attention to when you buy a convection oven, as the product’s main purpose is cooking food. Because of this, you should first be aware of what kind of cooking you want to do with the product you purchase. Therefore, you should not expect more of a product after you purchase it. Instead, you should check what the product can do before you buy it, and if you are satisfied with the feature of the product, then you should purchase it.
This countertop-friendly AirFryer Toaster Oven’s compact design saves space and has convection bake, broil, AirFry, toast, bagel, and warm functions. As we understand from here, the product has many settings you can choose to cook with. Because it has a warming function also, it provides great convenience for you, and you don’t have to worry about finishing all the food you made in one go.
This high-end 1800-watt toaster oven with AirFryer has a broad temperature range (Warm-450°F), an AirFry setting, toast, convection bake, bake, convection broil, broil, and warming function. Both products have similar cooking functions, so both provide a great convenience for you, and you can cook food in many different ways with both of them. So whether you bake, Airfry, toast or warm the food you already cooked, you can do it with Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart Toa-60.
2- Capacity
Capacity is also important, especially if you have a big family. This feature might not be essential for some people, but it still is important as no one wants a product that cooks very little.
Large enough to bake a 3-pound chicken, toast four pieces of bread, and air-fried up to 2.5 pounds of food. Even if it doesn’t have massive capacity, Cuisinart Toa-28 still can cook a great deal of food and will probably be enough to cook a meal for an average-sized family. But if you have a big family, we recommend looking for a product with more capacity. And that’s where Cuisinart Toa-60 comes to mind.
Sufficient to toast 6 breadpieces, air-fried bake a twelve-inch pizza, roast a four-pound chicken, or make three pounds of chicken wings. Cuisinart Toa-60 is a more effective choice for those with a big family or who cook more frequently. It is better if you want to cook more food at once.
At the end of the article, we will decide on one of the products, but we can say even here if you are someone who we just mentioned above, cook frequently and more in one go, it is better for you to choose Toa-60 instead of Toa-28 as capacity is a more important feature.
Cuisinart Toa-28 is equipped with an adjustable timer thermostat up to 450 degrees, a 60-minute timer/auto-shutoff, and a toast shade to guarantee that your meals are cooked to perfection selector-timer. It also operates quietly. Because you set the product to be cooked perfectly, you won’t have to check it all the time. Likewise, you won’t have to check if the food is done or is burning.
If you are busy, if you have a lot on your mind, this feature might help you more than you think. You will only have to prepare the food, and the rest will be in Cuisinart Toa-28’s hands. It will cook your food to perfection, and what you will only have to do will be to eat it.
Cuisinart Toa-60 appliance is outfitted with an adjustable temperature dial, a 60-minute timer/auto-shutoff, and a toast shade selection. Cuisinart Toa-60 has similar qualities when we compare the two of them for this feature. Both have a timer, auto shutoff, toast shade selection, and temperature adjustment.
So all the things and the conveniences we mentioned above also apply to Cuisinart Toa-60. If you are busy, we are sure both products will satisfy you. With both of the products, you won’t have to worry about checking the food, and after you finish preparing the food, you can sit back, relax and wait for a delicious meal to cook perfectly.
4- What Do They Include Along With the Product?
Something also important is that the products have some other necessary items that come with them. If the required items are not included in the product, it will cause trouble. It would help if you were not going after an item the product needs. It should be included when you purchase it.
The device has the necessities, including an oven light, oven rack, baking pan, air fryer rack/basket, and crumb tray. It also boasts a nonstick interior that is easy to clean, which makes cleaning a breeze. Because it is easier to clean, it provides great convenience as cleaning can be harder than cooking.
Apart from including all the items that the product needs in the package, it being easier to clean can attract more customers. We bet when you are purchasing a product, especially kitchen equipment, one of the first things you think of is if it will be easy to clean.
Cuisinart Toa-60 also comes with a baking pan, AirFry basket, oven light, oven rack, and a nonstick interior making cleaning easy. So again, all the qualities and conveniences also apply to this one. You can be sure that it is pretty easy to clean and will provide you with much comfort, and it also includes all the necessary items you need to cook food with the product inside the package.
5- Material
The material used in making the product is also important because if the material is poor, it will cause trouble for you. If the products are made with inferior material, they will stain, rust, and be unusable over time. Therefore, everyone wants a product that is safer and more durable. For this reason, Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart Toa-60 are both products you can purchase without a doubt. Now we will explain why.
Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart Toa-60: Both products are made from stainless steel. If you don’t know the benefits of stainless steel, let us inform you a bit about them. Stainless steel has corrosion resistance which makes it more durable against rusting. Stainless steel also has fire and heat resistance. It is easier to clean and more hygienic. Apart from all this, it also has an aesthetic appearance and is sustainable.
Pros and Cons of Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart Toa-60
In this article, we compared two products for you, two convection ovens, Cuisinart Toa-28 and Cuisinart Toa-60 Convection Oven. As mentioned above, both products have similar features, but Toa-60 has more cooking capacity. But overall, both of the products have amazing qualities.
They both have many settings you can adjust to cook different food, and as we mentioned above, after you set the food and adjust the timer, you won’t have to worry about anything else. They are also easy to clean, so you won’t have to think of cooking as a chore or something that will make you trouble.
Of course, both of them have pros and cons to them. For example, when using a convection oven, you will have to change the recipes you already own for them to match the convection oven. They can also be more expensive than a traditional oven, but when you look at all the qualities and features of the product, we think they are worth it. Another con is that you need specific dishes and pans to use with the product, but as was mentioned, the required pans and other things come with the Cuisinart Toa-28 and the Cuisinart Toa-60.
Overall, when we answer our main question, Cuisinart Toa-28 vs. Toa-60, we think both products are worth it, and both provide much convenience for the customers. We can say it depends on the customer if you ask what our recommendation is. If you have a big family and want to cook more food, then Toa-60 is more suitable for you, but if capacity is not a feature you need, then you can also purchase the Toa-28 without a doubt.

Review: Husband talked me into buying one. Appears to be of good quality. I bought it, but I just don’t see the point. It works OK except for the small tray makes anything you cook crowded in it, so I’d rather use my oven. Wish I hadn’t bothered to buy it. Plus I have a fear of fire with these portable, high heat, things (saw a video of a house fire start with an air fryer and that concerns me), so I am always hesitant to use it. Now it sits in the patio unused, though I might take it camping and use it outside.

Review: I live full time in my RV and have limited space but still like my kitchen appliances to make my life easier. I have only had the air fryer for a few days but completely impressed with it’s ability. I have used it for french fries, vegetables, flatbread, and toast. It is small and a bit challenging to get in and clean it but it works as designed and functioned perfectly. For me there is a learning cure with this being my first air fryer but I would have to say it is a great addition to my kitchen and given the small foot print I could not have asked for a better air fryer. I tried some sweet potato flat bread using a 7X7 pizza stone and the bread was nice and crisp then I made some using parchment paper and it turned out soft enough for use as a gyro wrap. French fries took about 20 minutes and with a mist of oil on them they turned out great with a nice crispness and fully cooked. Toast took a few minutes but as my other items it produced good toast. The only cons would be cleaning the inside of the unit and the removable crumb tray could possibility been a bit wider but if it was wider it may have the potential to bind and be hard to remove. Overall I like the air fryer it is a good fit for me.

Review: I bought this unit after my Dash air fryer started shedding little bits of nonstick coating into our food. I chose it because of its size, functionality, composition (no black nonstick stuff!) and the fact that Cuisinart products are usually dependable.

Review: Bought this to replace toaster oven. Taking up about the same amount of space as the toasterviven, this appliance air-fries, bakes, toasts, broils, and warms food. No digital settings here. All manual dials for time and temp. The air fryer works pretty quickly. I learned, the hard way, not to set it and walk away. My veggies were burned to a crisp. I’ve made toast in it and re-heated pizza. Both came out well.

Review: Bagels and toast are a challenge – come out too dry / over toasted easily – but can CAN toast with it, it is possible.

Review: There’s a lot to like about this unit: as an air fryer, it has the largest surface area I found, larger than the biggest Phillips or GoWise units (and surface area, rather than volume, is what really matters). It makes some delicious food and ticks some excellent boxes. Unlike the GoWise air fryer I had started with, but returned because the coating on the pan was coming off after only 3 uses, these trays are more durable. I debated whether to give it 2 or 3 stars, and overall I am keeping it so I gave it 3. But there are some pretty serious drawbacks.

Review: This product delivers as advertised! It does all the things you want in a compact countertop air fryer and then some. I personally love the nostalgic (although not precise) timers. So you have to keep an eye on your food. The teenager is getting acclimated to that…. My only “complaint” is the steel insert for under the air fryer basket. It has oxidized so much after about 20 uses that I am seeking a replacement. A $30 replacement for a machine that I got for under market price. Thank you Black Friday…. Nonetheless, the quality of the catch pan for under the air fryer basket is less than ideal. I am hoping cuisinart makes good on this but it doesn’t make he machine less of a valuable commodity in my kitchen. It is a godsend.

Review: Hands down, the best countertop appliance we own. The cook time using this is amazing, and usually half of what most directions will say; the caveat is you need to keep a close eye until you’re used to to this since the typical cook times listed don’t align to each setting. Being a mama to a 2 and 3 year old, this cooks food perfectly and makes it easy to accommodate their picky taste when I’m needing to cook multiple meal options. So far, all frozen pizza options fit perfectly in here and now we opt to use this over our nice, large convection oven due to the time and quality of the final product. Highly recommend!

Review: Bought this because we had a toaster oven and wanted an air fryer but not a lot of counter space. Got rid of toaster oven as this makes good toast. Not much bigger than toaster oven and more versatile. Drawer air fryers have a bad smell as they are a lot of plastic (so many people said in reviews) and didn’t want the smell. This is all stainless steel and no plastic parts to smell. Not great for chicken breasts. Kinda messy but great for most everything my wife likes to cook. Recommend it!

Review: We bought the Air Fryer + Convection Toaster Oven by Cuisinart, 7-1 Oven with Bake, Grill, Broil & Warm Options in October 2022, and haven’t used the regular oven since! It’s amazing how easy it is to use and how beautifully and quickly it cooks! Meats are cooked in a fraction of the time and come out moist and juicy! We love the generous size of the product and basket – we can fit most anything the two of us would want in it, so we can both eat at the same time! For air fryers, it’s essential that you allow room for the air to move around the food to cook everything evenly. This product has ample room for that without having to shake a basket to move the food around. LOVE IT!

Review: We have cooked salmon, steaks, tri-tip, burgers, pork chops…all colk extremely well!! The quality of this and all its parts is amazing. The air fryer basket is coated so well…cleanup is so easy…the sponge doesn’t catch and snag on the basket at all!! The grilling accessory is coated well and makes cleanup just effortless…it truly is a great alternative to cooking for 2 in a big oven…we live it and also got one for our 5th wheel trailer!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Review: This is a fantastic multi-function oven! No longer heating up the standard oven for small dishes, Brussels sprouts and pao de queijo came out perfectly. I don’t understand the reviews about overheating, they seem very scammy to me. I tested this oven on every setting with an oven thermometer and not only was the temperature true, it remained consistent on EVERY setting and throughout the cooking time. Looking forward to more experiments!
