Review: For all those people that complained about the smell – I would be willing to bet that you did not read the part – “before first use”. You need to run the toaster at cycle 6, and then 2 – 3 times at cycle 4. This burns off any manufacturing residues. I turned on my stove’s vent hood on high to get rid of the smell.

Review: It has nice slots that work great with bagels and yet the bread slices are not lost in it due to its construction. t is well made and what I’d call heavy duty construction. I mean you could probably drop it on the floor without damaging it. It looks nice and the knobs are big enough that sore arthritis hands operate it without issues. The cord is adequately long. On other models I have had the cord was so short you needed an extension cord to use it. That is not the case with this toaster. I would highly recommend this toaster to you or a known friend.

Review: The toaster works. We use it to toast english muffins. I like the bright red light, the wide slots and the cleaning tray. Our only problem is the smell. I have it out on our outside porch and I keep running it, over and over again, to try and bake off the odor. The odor is getting better. Review: Been using this toaster with no problems for more than four years. Works just fine for an economically priced toaster. But I hate the trough around the toaster slots. It is always catching crumbs and they are very difficult to clean out without turning the toaster upside down. I’m going to replace it with one that does not have that design…even though it still works well to make toast.

Review: I got this at a sale price, it was a good value at that price. It performed better than our last toaster, which looked fancier and was all stainless steel (and started sparking inside from some kind of short). When the control is placed exactly on the halfway mark, it makes perfect toast. It is mostly plastic, and looks a bit cheap, but since I’ve found the lifespan of any toaster in our house is about 4 years, I’d rather replace something that didn’t cost much than a more elegant looking thing that basically has identical innards. The dot on the control knob is not bright enough or big enough to see in a dim room without my reading glasses on. Legibility is important, and it fails here, being a very tiny dim dot that I can’t seen. One of the kids rotated the knob from the perfect center position to a higher level and I burnt some toast because I didn’t see that it had been changed. I’m going to have to get some nail polish and paint a bigger line or dot that I can actually see.
